Kebri Dehar Water Supply Project phase 1 concluded in January 2019 and was handed over on 20 June 2019. Phase 2 started on 25 June 2019 under UNICEF / Water Bureau as employer.
Phase 1 of the Kebri Dehar Water Supply Project (KWSP) focused on preparation of the supply system: boreholes, reservoirs and rising mains. Physical works for phase 1 were completed in January 2019 and formally handed over on 20 June 2019.
Phase 2 began on 25 June 2019, with UNICEF and the Somali Regional Water Bureau as employer. This phase covers household distribution — the piped network that brings water from the prepared sources into homes and public points.
That sequencing is why the town did not have full piped household water on the day phase 1 finished: phase 1 prepared production and storage; phase 2 delivers distribution to users. Rabah & Sons remains accountable for the works under each phase's contract.
